On May 10, 2022, the BC PNP Draw issued a new batch of invitations by holding four targeted draws through the Tech stream. 126 skilled employees and international graduates with a minimum score of 85 points received invitations.

Designed for in-demand tech workers and international students, the BC PNP Tech is a fast-track immigration pathway. There are several requirements to qualify for the stream. Along with registration in one of British Columbia’s (BC) current provincial immigration streams, they also need to have a valid work offer for at least 12 months in one of 29 approved occupations.

To encourage regional immigration and support specific industry sectors, the BC government has issued targeted invitations since March 2022.

This allows invitations to be sent out to the following groups –

  • 20 healthcare professionals and “fewer than five” nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates. The minimum provincial score was 62 in each of these draws.
  • 20 early childhood educators with similar score requirements.

For the first time since March, B.C. also sent out invitations to Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) candidates, although the number of invitations was less than five. But the stream has been suspended temporarily. But the province continues to welcome and finalize applications from EI-based applicants. The province is now examining the program and plans to reopen it to applications in July 2022.

British Columbia has issued over 3,200 invites through various BC PNP streams so far this year.
